Vertamae Grosvenor lives in Washington, D.C. and is the host of the public television series The Americas' Family Kitchen. Grosvenor is a regular commentator on National Public Radio's All Things Considered, and the host of Horizons. Her holiday food series, Seasonings, won the prestigious James Beard Foundation award for Best Radio Show.
 

Most recently, she was the culinary consultant for the film "Beloved," based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Toni Morrison. As an assistant to Oprah Winfrey in her biscuit-baking scene, Vertamae baked more buttermilk biscuits than you can count.
