AUSTIN L. SCOTT
is a graduate of Livingstone with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary
Education. He graduated Salutatorian, with Suma Cum Laude honors. He
has completed two terms as the state president of the Students of
North Carolina Association of Educators, and one term as a
member of the National Education Association Student Program
Advisory Committee. He was also a former Peer HIV/AIDS
Counselor on his college campus, a Ronald McNair Scholar
(University of Tennessee, Knoxville 2006), and an intern with the
Southern Education Foundation Leadership Initiative. He is also
a member of STUDY House Ministries in Charlotte, NC. His
publications include: The Psalms of Lazarus, published in
2007 and Closing the Educational Achievement Gap Between
Blacks and Whites, published in 2008. He currently
teaches fourth grade in Charlotte, NC.
