Free from the clutches of a six year
relationship with a violent and serially unfaithful partner, Xion
Taylor was finally in control of her life. Or was she? Xion, a 26
year old Antiguan national, decided to take charge of her situation.
Not wanting to waste any time being sad and pathetic, by putting up
with what seemed like the typical Caribbean man mentality when it
came to love, she began find her focus. She moved to Toronto,
channeled her energy towards her career, swore off men, and was
finally at peace. Fate then dealt her an unexpected hand in love,
causing her rethink her “fool proof game plan”, when new prospects
began to entangle with old bad habits.
“UNEXPECTED” will not only be easily
identifiable to any woman who is West Indian or with West Indian or
Caribbean heritage, but also by anyone who has stayed in a negative
relationship, one, two or three years past it’s expiration date.
Also, her journey while striving for success is easy to relate to,
as she stumbles along trying to find her way, not always learning
from her past mistakes.
