Description:
Princess Foruwa was a famous warrior queen, raised by loving parents in the lush, prosperous kingdom of Dankyira (located approximately where Ghana exists today). Trouble comes to paradise on the princess’s 11th birthday in 1667: the king is assassinated in an uprising and she is kidnapped overseas on a slave ship to become the wife of an American plantation owner. Thus, the story of Princess Foruwa and the
legacy of her gold bracelet-the story that will unfold over this series of novels- is initiated. The narrative is not only gripping, but educational and thought- provoking as well. Issues raised in the plot are unfortunately as pertinent in today’s world as ever.
