Lai Abrams is an empowerment specialist and Men’s Fitness
magazine’s resident relationship expert. Her first book,
No More Drama: Nine Simple Steps to Transforming a Breakdown
Into a Breakthrough was released by Sepia Press
Publishing in October 2007. No More Drama vividly
illustrates the SEPIA process, a simple method of
self-inquiry that empowers the reader to radically change
their perspective one clear step at a time. Artfully
blending spiritual teachings with heart-wrenching personal
stories, Sil Lai openly shares her personal experience with
overcoming disempowerment issues such as addiction, domestic
violence, and depression to illustrate a revolutionary
approach to self-help.
Prior to her career in writing, Sil Lai
worked for several years as a fashion model for clients such
as Valentino, Sears and JC Penney. After working in the
fashion industry for several years, she eventually made the
career transition into entertainment industry related event
planning. Over the course of her event planning career, Sil
Lai generated nearly $3 million in sales working with a
variety of well-known clients, including Antonio "LA" Reid,
Musiq Soulchild, Ashanti, Moet & Chandon and Virgin Records.
An insightful and engaging media personality,
Sil Lai has made frequent appearances on ABC, BET, BETJ, and
Court TV as an expert on relationships, depression and
suicide.
Sil Lai is also a highly sought after public speaker and
workshop facilitator. The National Medical Association,
Harvard College, Dress for Success, and the National
Alliance on Mental Illness are just a few of the
distinguished organizations that have used her public
speaking services.
In addition to her professional endeavors,
Sil Lai actively works to empower young people. She is a
former Dade County Guardian Ad Litem and current mentor with
The Children’s Aid Society P.I.N.S. Program.

Hawaii and raised between Southern California
and Central Florida, Sil Lai resides in Brooklyn, New York
