Description: |
|
“Black Familia”, is an explosively intense
novel in which a group of inner-city Hustlas and Gangstas organize their
‘hood, and raise the stakes of the game. The ‘hood (Bed-Stuy) is
in the midst of a brutal and bloody war when Big Lou, a Brooklyn
legend and Underworld ‘Hall of Famer’ is released from the
Federal Penitentiary after 25 years of prison life. The O.G. (Big
Lou) convinces the Bed-Stuy ‘Criminal Elites’ to attend a
‘Meeting of the Minds’ that would forever change the GAME.
At this ‘Historical Meeting’, all wars were put to a cease, and the
“Birth of a Dynasty” began to take form. As things progress,
Brooklyn’s Elite Criminals start to experience a rare form of
solidarity in purpose and actions. Quan, the unofficial ‘Pope’
of Brooklyn, builds allies with the other boroughs of New York. Once the
Brooklyn Goons are joined by the Criminal Elites of the other
boroughs, the men pledge their loyalty and commitment to each other, the
game and ultimately, their ‘HOODS, thus forming the first
‘Black Commission’ known as “Black Familia”. |

| About the Author: |
|
Raheem Hoyte, or Bounty as he's known
to most, is a father as well as the founder and CEO of
Street Money Publishing, LLC. Bounty is also an author who
hails from the gritty streets of Bed-Stuy, one of Brooklyn,
New York's most violent neighborhoods. Unlike your typical
author, Bounty's résumé doesn't include a host of literary
credentials. However, being dubbed by some as the new
literary Voice of the Streets, Bounty's résumé does prove
that he is certainly qualified to write about the streets; a
place he knows so well.
At a young age, Bounty found himself
knee deep in the streets. As they say, Practice Makes
Perfect. Therefore, it didn't take long for Bounty's street
savvy to prevail. But, with street life comes the
penitentiary. So it was evident that he would one day see
the Pen.
However, that day came sooner than he thought it would. At
age eleven, Bounty caught his first case. Since then he's
been haunted by the Penal Plague. Unfortunately, Bounty's
travels went from the juvenile system to the adult state
system, before his Penal Journey ultimately landed him in
the Federal Pen. In 1993 Bounty was tried and convicted of
being an organizer/leader of a racketeering enterprise that
expanded across several states. It was the RICO conviction
that caused him to receive a double-life sentence becoming
the nation's youngest defendant to be convicted of being a
leader of such an enterprise. |
